COTTON
Cotton is a natural fiber harvested from the cotton plant that grows well in warmer climates. Cotton quality depends on fiber length. Longer fibers make a more uniform, resistant and smoother thread when twisted.
EGYPTIAN COTTON
Egypt produces the best quality, longest fiber and most valued cotton world-wide. Egyptian Cotton has become synonymous with staple that meets those standards and highest quality. Cotton is spun into fabrics that we use for bed linen, where Percale and Sateen weaves are the most common type of weaves.
TYPES OF WEAVE
The way in which fabric is woven results in different types of fabric with its different kinds of features (also meaning how the fabric feels like). Cotton sateen sheets, for example, are softer than those with a classic linen weave. A satin weave has more warp threads on the top surface, resulting in a silk-like touch and appealing lustre. Which is better? It`s a matter a personal taste; some people prefer the crispness of a linen weave, others like the softness of the satin.
SATEEN ( OR SATIN )
Sateen is a soft, light and lustrous fabric. Sateen is a weave in which many threads are aligned tightly together in the vertical direction, creating a flat, smooth, shiny and very soft surface. Sateen is also naturally more wrinkle resistant and is usually a little thicker than other cotton fabrics. PERCALE
Percale is a soft, crisp fabric that feels cool against the skin. Our percale fabric goes through a stonewashed process which gives it a soft texture and a more casual appearance. Percale is a closely woven, plain-weave cotton fabric and is also lighter in weight and more breathable making it suitable for the summertime or the hot climate. You'll love Percale if; You love the feel of cool, crisp sheets, You feel hot and sweaty at night or it’s a hot time of year, You want something basic, that’s easy to care for.
LINEN
Linen is a natural fiber extracted from the flax plant. Light and airy, Linen is perfect for balmy climates and those seeking a classic, casual appearance. Linen is more expensive than cotton, and more difficult to spin, but the above-mentioned properties make it one of the most comfortable and attractive fabrics.
EMBROIDERY
Embroidery is decorative, ornamental needlework stitches used to dress up a base fabric. Embroidery can be machine woven or done by hand.
BORDER
We refer to the decorative embroidered border on our 'Everyday' pillowcases.
PIPING
A thin decorative trim used to finish a hem, seam or as an outline. Can be the same or contrasting fabric.
THREAD COUNT
Tread count means the number of threads woven into a square inch of fabric. While thread count is often quoted as the main indicator of fabric quality, the quality of the thread and the finishing are also key factors in assessing a fabric's calibre. Because of this, fabric quality cannot be determined by merely referring to the thread count – in fact, it's largely a marketing gimmick – which is why you won't find it listed in our product descriptions. Take a look at the textiles and what certificate they have, these are the best indicators of great quality.
OEKO-TEX
An Oeko-Tex labeled fabric, in our case bedding, means that the fabric is free of harmful substances and that you can sleep safe at night. In detail, The Oeko-Tex® Association, a group of European textile institutes, is a global testing and accreditation program for the screening of harmful substances in consumer textiles, with the strictest standards in the world. All of our Bedding products exceed both Oeko-Tex certification and surpass the highest safety standards in the industry. HEADBOARD

BOX SPRING
A bed foundation with spring coils that is placed under the mattress for support
PILLOWCASE
A removable cloth cover for a pillow.
DUVET COVER
A duvet cover that covers the duvet (comforter or filling) and is a sack-like covering with three closed sides and one open side that fits over a comforter to give it a new look.
FITTED SHEET
A sheet that covers the mattress you sleep on. Used as a bottom sheet, a fitted sheet’s four corners are fitted with elastic so it “hugs” the mattress, staying in place more firmly.
FLAT SHEET
A large sheet that covers the mattress you sleep on. A simple rectangular piece of cloth that can be tucked under the mattress at the sides and bottom.
