Bedtime routines with Isolina Fedel
We invited entrepreneur and favorite it-girl Isolina Fedel to reveal her secrets to successful sleep. She graduated from one of the world's best design schools, Parsons School of Design, in New York, runs two companies on her own and started the journey towards entrepreneurship at the age of 12. And we asked ourselves if she even has time to sleep?
In this blogpost she shares her love for hotel beds, the traditional Swedish cheese Prästost and her sleeping record being 22h in a row! Now over to super entrepreneur Isolina Fedel.
How often do you hit snooze in the morning?
I actually stopped snoozing any alarms almost five/six years ago as I always snoozed too long, and until it was too late..
How many pillows do you use when sleeping?
I am not a big fan of using pillows since we have a very comfortable bed - but since my boyfriend loves pillows.. We have seven (!) of them. Don’t ask.
A good bed is a bed with:
Comfortable and crispy bed linen made out of cotton of course.
Bedside tables reveal a lot about a person...what’s on yours?
Notebook, Byredo Bibliotheque candle, phone charger, Palmgrens tray for my jewelry, my watch and earrings, my bed perfume (I always use a light fresh scent when going to bed), hand/foot cream and facial mask from Löwengrip and a book that I never manage to read.
Describe your perfect breakfast in bed.
In the summer, when my boyfriend wakes up before me and making French omelette, tea and granola bowl.. or just plain crackers with Prästost! (a typical Swedish cheese).
My morning mood:
I’m a morning person who loves to wake up early (not before 6am though..). The morning is my holy-time and the time of the day when I mentally walk through the day hour by hour, doing my to-do-lists and so on.
My best tip for a good night’s sleep:
A device free hour. Put away your phone at least an hour before going to bed!
Make your bedroom feel like a hotel room. I’m a huge hotel lover and I really love that MLL feels like a hotel bed.
A non-fuzzy bed to keep the mind calm. I’m a true minimalist so I love my bedlinen to be discrete but with a nice boarder detail in different colors.
Get those hours! I need to sleep at least 7hrs a day, that’s my key to stay focused and motivated. But…. The longest I have slept was 22hrs (without waking up) after being up for 48hrs when I studied at Parsons School of Design in New York. When I studied I had at least one all-nighter a week to manage all work. After those days, I swore to myself to never ever have an all-nighter again. No matter what.
