Plant Power

My Luxury Linen Plant Power

Spending time in nature is well known to be greatly beneficial to our health, happiness, and overall well-being. By inviting a little bit of nature in to our homes we can enjoy these benefits even when we are inside, and when we are sleeping. Because other than brightening up the room, indoor plants come with many health benefits.

Keeping and caring for plants have been proven to purify the air and encourages calmness and serenity. The scientific part of it shows that many indoor plants improve the air quality by increasing the humidity level. Dry indoor air is to blame for many aliments such as sore throats, respiratory problems and even breakouts. Plants maintain —and sometimes increases— humidity and oxygen levels by emitting water vapor during transpiration.

What is even more incredible, is that plants produce negative ions (similar to air-purifying machines). The negative ions attach themselves to, and remove, particles such as allergens, mold spores, dust and bacteria. The presence of these negative ions has been shown to increase psychological health, productivity, and overall well-being.

Simply put; plants are amazing!

So since you spend so much time in your bedroom, why not add some beautiful indoor plants in there? The increase in air quality might even help you sleep better, and the higher oxygen levels can help you feel more refreshed in the morning, especially if you live in an urban area where air pollutants are common.

So what plants are suitable for the bedroom?

For the bedroom you can pick any plants you like, but consider lighting and make sure you remember to take proper care of the plants. If you like to keep your bedroom dark most of the time, make sure to open the curtains during the day to give your plants some light.

Plants with large thick leaves such as Snake Plant, Rubber Plant and English Ivy require moderate light and are easy to care for. They are also some of the top-rated plants when it comes to air purification!

If you prefer flowering plants, we recommend Peace Lily and Gardenia. These plants have excellent air purifying qualities, and they also have beautiful flowers all year round. You can also try to keep Jasmine or Lavender. These flowers will give off a wonderful and relaxing scent— but be mindful that they do need a bit more care while kept inside.

And don’t worry; you don’t have to fill your bedroom with plants to reap the benefits. Just one pot will do just fine, so pick one that you like and don’t forget to water it!
